Phone calls and text messaging blocked since recent e/OS update

Ciao Murena and /e/OS Community.

URGENT HELP NEEDED

My Murena Teracube phone has been disabled for calls and text messages (SMS) since the recent OS update.

I have been advised, after taking the phone to my local expert, to contact the phone makers, as
a) there was a recent OS update, and
b) when I move the SIM card (scheda) into someone else’s phone, it does work for messages and calls.

PLEASE can anyone help with this issue, as I am unable to access essential services like bank and work contacts, for the past 5 days.
any thanks :pray::lotus:

Make sure the data is turned on.

It might help to describe exactly your build_version_string.

Maybe your expert might not be aware that /e/ might update your Access Point Names in an update / upgrade. Again your expert might not be familiar that some Google magic can be involved in adjusting APN in recent regular Android but not /e/OS.

The APN are published by your carrier and can be checked at Settings > Settings Search facility > Access point names.

You may find pointers in threads with hashtag apn

Thanks Jets, yes; unfortunately it wasn’t that simple.

Hi aibd, and thank you sincerely for your reply here - yes: I am using the Murena Teracube, with the most recent version of the /e/OS update from last week 3.0.1-s-20250609498926-official-emerald and is Android version 12

I also got a potentially helpful email from Murena suggesting specific changes to my APNs, however the local expert did get the internet working, BUT since I followed the Murena customer services advice, I’m now without internet again, and still no messaging. When I changed the APN codes that Murena advise, a window came up stating that "Access Point Name settings are not available for this user - and the data inputted does not appear to be saved (despite clicking ‘save’ after inputting it).

I shall await further advise from Murena.

Good wishes and gratitude,
Clare.

Is a known response.

Firstly, sometimes + an APN is a better option than edit an existing.

Secondly, I believe you need a good Wi-Fi connection while changing / creating APN as I think that carriers may check that you are requesting a valid setting before allowing Save.

I’m in the USA so it might be different in the EU, but here APN settings are determined by the carrier and nobody else. I go to my carrier to check that data, for example if I want to set up a Mint Mobile APN, I’d reference Mint Mobile’s published data.
