After more than one year of daily use, yesterday I plug my phone to recharge it and this morning, on turning it on again, it’s stuck on the splash screen.
I tried the two combinations such as on+vol up or on+vol down but to no avail
Should I use adb ? In that case I really need the help of this community

AND refuse to boot to recovery mode
I think memory is dead
BUT you should be able to boot to download mode !
Are you sure of your buttons combination ?
Volume Up + Home + Power
S8 has a soft home button. Should I press power + volume up + bixby (correct ?) button ?

power + volume down (without the protecting shell which most probably hampers the pression on both buttons) and I’m back in business !!
What did you do after successful reboot in TWRP mode ?
Actually nothing ! It restarted as usual. No twrp splash screen. Samsung then /e/ as usual.
Time to buy a backup phone ?
