Photos in order on Murena WS, not in Fairphone 5

Hello and good morning/afternoon/evening,

I’ve found that my photos are (for the most part) correctly sorted on Murena Workspace, according to date, going back to 2009.

But in the Gallery on Fairphone 5, the photos taken before I started with Murena are all jumbled on the same date I got the phone in April this year.

Does anyone have an idea why there’s this discrepency?

The reason for the discrepancy is that on Murena the Gallery is more clever in collecting the “date taken” from the image.

Where you see photos “bunched” on the phone, the Gallery is using “Date modified”. It is typical of the copy command that the copies have their “creation” at that modified date.

Example keywords in possible correction is EXIF metadata.

Rather than copy a command like sync will more likely retain the real creation date.
