Postbank BestSign on Murena GS6 Pro /e/OS 4.0 (Android 16)?

Hi everyone,

I’m considering buying a Murena GS6 Pro, but there is one important issue I need to clarify first.

I use Postbank Germany and need the Postbank BestSign app only for authentication. I do my actual online banking on a PC — no mobile banking, payments or transfers on the phone.

The GS6 Pro is currently advertised with /e/OS 4.0 based on Android 16.

Has anyone here actually used the following setup?

Murena GS6 Pro
/e/OS 4.0 / Android 16
microG instead of Google Play Services
Postbank Germany BestSign app

In particular, does BestSign activation work, and can you subsequently approve authentication requests from the PC?

I’m especially interested in whether BestSign requires Google Play Services, Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM), Google Play Integrity, or any other Google-specific component.

Postbank support told me that they cannot confirm compatibility with /e/OS and therefore recommend a conventional Android system with Google Play Services.

So I’m looking for actual user experience with the GS6 Pro, rather than general /e/OS compatibility information.

Also: Has anyone used the ING Germany banking app on the GS6 Pro /e/OS 4.0 for authentication purposes?

This is the only user direct confirnation I have found re BestSign:

It is from June 2022 and sometimes after upgrades apps stop working. Maybe @netfly can confirm if the app still works and push notifications come through (if that’s what it needs)?

Otherwise, You @JoCool could raise a ticket via ‘contact us’ (at the bottom of that page) to ask Murena Customer Service if returning the phone possible within 14 days once You started using it provided the app does not work.
