Hello,
I would like to suggest several improvements to the Fairphone Gen6 e/os system…
**
–Firstly, for the battery, an option that sends a notification when it falls below a certain threshold.
–An option to configure what can be seen/accessed from the lock screen. If our phone is stolen, the thief just has to put it in airplane mode and we’ll never get it back…**
--So also add an option that automatically turns on location tracking when the SMS code is received to recover data from the lost mobile phone.
–A more advanced option to customise the microphone/camera block button, allowing you to add additional blocks, such as location tracking, forcing airplane mode, etc.
--When a notification is received, add an option to make the screen LED flash to alert the user that they have received a notification without having to turn on their phone.
–Add an application that allows easy access to all the sensors on the phone: NFC (copy, read, write), barometer, altimeter, temperature, accelerometer, proximity sensor, etc.
Thank you for reading, I hope that all of this will be possible.Kind regards,
Szellen
Most of the sensor are all ready available in Android in general from the pull down tiles. You just edit the one you want and arrange them in the tile edit mode. Pull down tiles until eight tiles show and the edit pen will show. Now move up the most important ones
You get a notification when the accu is under 15% or so. It comes with a configurable tone and a red blinking LED. In this case also the accu saving mode is activated.
Normally the LED should show each notification by blinking. You can even configure different colors (and tones) for different notifications.
/e/OS has now an intelligent builtin charging control. You can configure the upper limit which defines when charging stops and that’s good because you don’t need to care about this anymore, charging stops now for sure. Before they built this in charging didn’t stop, you could indeed overcharge and damage your accu by doing this.
But related to the LED and the notifications in the notification area I must be more precise:
You can’t configure the lower limit. When you reach 15% the LED gets red (you can only configure the color) and you get also a notification in the notification area because it’s important.
You also can’t configure the upper limit. When you are charging and you reach 90% the LED gets green (you can only configure the color). I’m not sure about a notification in the notification area, probably you get one saying that it’s full now.
For both cases you can additionally configure tones or if you don’t like this you can also switch the tones completely off.
If you want earlier notifications including LED (say for the range of 20…80%) you can install an app like BatteryBot Pro (from F-Droid). I had this for years. But this app doesn’t control your charging.
