Protonmail on Pixel 3 XL doesn't notify

Hello,

I just buy a Google Pixel 3 XL and install eOS. I installed ProtonMail, I can receive and send mails, but I never see new email notifications even if ProtonMail app is open. I think that it doesn’t sync in background too, because new emails appear few seconds after I open app.

My previous phone was a Google XL (on Pie beta) and it worked and works properly. I also try it on an Essential PH-1 (also on R beta) and on a Google Nexus 5 (on Nugat minimal beta) and I works properly.

I try to disconnect my account, uninstall app, re install from apps store and from aurora store, but nothing works. I compared notification settings between my Pixel and Pixel 3, they are same.

All other apps work fine… Any idea?

Thanks for your reply. I try it but it doesn’t work. :pensive:

  • Check if the snooze option is enabled in the ProtonMail app settings (Settings → account name → SnoozeNotifications Snooze ). You will not receive any notifications when the snooze option is active. ?

Or MicroG Settings
Check if Cloud Messaging is enabled

It’s also verified.

Maybe it’s more with cloud messaging my problem. I received the notification to allow proton mail to access cloud messaging, but it looks like proton mail is not registered. Do you know how I can change it to registered?

no, sorry

Thank you very much for your help.

i see you have a vpn running, or a firewall…
maybe that’s the reason…

Ok, I disabled “allow registration” and “start app…” for proton mail. Force stopping app. Start app. Force stopping app. Enable both options in cloud messaging. Restart app.

Now proton mail is registered and it works!

Again, thank you very much!
