Question about factory reset

Hi,

Since yesterday, just out of the blue, a few apps have started to crash on my phone, a Galaxy S8 with the latest /e/ build. Uninstalling and re-installing them don’t seem to resolve the issue.

I have been thinking that I might need to do a factory reset and set up the whole thing from scratch.

I have TWRP installed and I wonder if I do a factory reset, will that remove/wipe TWRP?
If it does, should I just as well flash the phone anew from TWRP?

Just do a wipe / Dalvik
TWRP will not be deleted

Thanks for the swift reply!
Just to get it all right. So I need to wipe Dalvik before a factory reset?

If you do this, everything is deleted and clear.
I think, this is what you like to get.
Nothing left except the pure OS and TWRP still resist

Thanks for the clarification!
I’ll try this later this evening when I get back home and report here later on!

Correct. Which also means that if the fault is somehow on the OS’s side, a so-called factory reset will not resolve the issue.

But ok to give a try as first shot…

Of course, I just wanted to mention it because in Android the “factory reset” is mislabelled.

Thank you all for your input!
The misbehaving apps seem to be working fine now after a reset. I haven’t had time to set up my phone the way it was before but for now things seem to be working fine. Hope it stays like that.
