The Redmi 12C Earth original ROM was hyp****OS Android 14 and had a memory extension (also known as RAM expansion) feature. Since the phone’s RAM memory is 4GB, it is insufficient. Therefore, by activating the memory extension feature, I was able to partially solve the phone’s bottleneck problem. Yesterday, I managed to install the /e/OS Android 15 version. It doesn’t have the memory extension feature. This disappointed me because this phone is unusable without memory extension. The memory extension feature is available in Android 15. My other phone has the original Android 15 ROM and the RAM expansion feature. So Android 15 supports the memory extension feature. However, this feature is not available in /e/OS.
Original ROM memory extension feature
As seen, we can allocate an additional 4GB of memory as an extension. However, only up to twice the amount of RAM can be allocated. Therefore, when enabling this feature, please also add the capability to add an 8GB memory extension.
This menu is accessed on a device with the original stock ROM of Android 14 via Settings > Additional settings > Memory extension.
On my other Android 15 device (Vivo), it is accessed via Settings > About phone > RAM > RAM expansion.
I guess you would have to talk to the Lineageos about that. e/OS/ is based on Lineageos.
