Relocking bootloader on CMF Phone 1 - Self-install vs Murena version

I have a CMF Phone 1 (tetris) and I’m about to install /e/OS. Checking the official device page, it says that relocking the bootloader is “Not available”, but I see that the Murena Store sells this exact same phone with /e/OS pre-installed and the bootloader locked.

Since I already own the phone and don’t want to buy a new one, I’m curious: why can’t we relock it on our own? Is the hardware from the Murena Store different or is there just some missing info on how to do it?

As a tech user, I really prefer to have the bootloader locked for better security and stability. If Murena can do it, there should be a way for us to do it too, right?

Would love to hear if there’s a plan to support this or if someone has a workaround. Thanks!

Hi,

Even the ones sold on murena.com have an unlocked bootloader. They state on the website:

The Murena CMF Phone 1 comes with an unlocked bootloader, please see here for more information about what this means.”

You can find a discussion on the forum here: Verified boot on CMF phone 1? - /e/OS Devices / Nothing - /e/OS community

So unfortunately locking the bootloader is nog supported on this model.

If you want to see which devices are supported, you can use the option ‘Supported only’ under ‘Verified Boot status’ at the Smartphone Selector.

Good luck!
