Restrict use and hide phone apps

Hi

To prevent others (including kids) from accessing apps on my phone:

(i) Is it possible lock down apps so they need a password to use. I’ve seen some apps on aurora (not sure about them) and f-droid (dated). Ideally is there is a more generic method to lock apps?

(ii) Can you easily restrict which apps the screen will show? For example, to hide dialer, sms etc
