Revolut — Unsupported device

When starting Revolut it says: “To keep your data safe, the Revollut app isn’t supported on devices with modified firmware or system settings.”

How do I use revolut on /e/os?

EDIT: It seems that I have to bootlock device ? If I do that the phone will be wiped (again). After I boot lock can I remove stock apps?

(btw there are issues reported on custom firmware, but Revolut on my FP6 says modified firmware

Regain your privacy! Adopt /e/OS the deGoogled mobile OS and online services

I wiped my device to bootlock it :face_with_raised_eyebrow:.
Revolut still complains “Unsupported device”.
now I’m rpo.

[These instructions](https://support.fairphone.com/hc/en-us/articles/10492476238865-How-to-unlock-and-re-lock-the-bootloader) apparenlty don´t work

Got have to

  1. Reboot the phone with the volume down pressed
  2. On the PC ./fastboot flashing lock_critical
  3. Reboot the phone with the volume down pressed
  4. On the PC now ./fastboot flashing lock
  5. Accept locking on the phone

I fail to see why two reboots are required but OK.

Then this was not the (only) reason for Revolut to complain.
You are running an Android Custom ROM. Banking Apps might complain and not work at any point in time. There’s no guarantee they will work.

Prior example (also notice how long this saga went on):

If those instructions manage to unlock and lock your bootloader as described, they work.

Yes. The Instructions are not very straightforward unfortunately. But I managed to flash lock_critical and flash lock. Nobody told me these are two separate steps for whatever reason.

It’s proven again how difficult it is for a programmer to write succinct yet complete instructions. I recommend to leave that to an AI if choice. They are generally much better, complete and understandable.

How are these not two seperate steps in the instructions?

OK true there are seven steps in total.

But how are the two flush lock_critical and flush lock different. Are one of these optional?

The two different commands lock different parts of the system.
According to https://source.android.com/docs/core/architecture/bootloader/locking_unlocking lock critical was introduced to devices for extra protection of sections needed to boot the device into the bootloader.

Not according to the unlock/lock instructions.
