S10(e/+) 3.7-t end of life

Hi,

I have a S10+ and a S10e.

So I understand that I’ll have to migrate to a community release /e/OS dev beyond2lte download which lead me to 2 ou 3 questions :

• Is there a smoother way to migrate than { backup + Install Install /e/OS on a Samsung Galaxy S10+ - “beyond2lte” + manual restore } ?
• Can I just jump from e-3.7-t to e-3.t-a16 or are they any firmware problem ? (I would say yes Samsung S10 SM-G973F - Installation /e/OS )
• How will next upgrades occur
  • eg e-3-7 → e-3-8 ? OTA ? Flash ?
  • A16 → A17 should never happen on this old hardware…

(If Android 16 works on my S10 I will be astonished ! Thanks to the community)

That’s not strictly true. More than 75 changes - mostly backported fixes from monthly Android Security Bulletins - have been merged to the lineage-20.0 / Android 13 code base in LineageOS since the beginning of March:

Did the dirty upgrade work? I have a S10e currently running e-3.7-t, last year I was told that upgrading to u would require a complete device formatting so I pushed back, but now it seems that dirty upgrade without data loss is possible? To which version did you jump? I’ve read the HOWTO tutorial and I think I should be able to migrate but I’m not 100% sure..

Thanks a lot in advance for your help, I’ve performed dirty upgrades in the past but I’m always a bit scared of losing everyting on my device so it would be nice to know everything went well

Hi Saccharine,

I didn’t try the dirty upgrade yet…
I’m little scared and out of time. I’ll try soon with the S10e of my son.

There are few apps on it. It wouldn’t take a lot of time to reconfigure all.

I’ll do report here. Stay tuned !

I am also still with 3.7.2-t with A13 and I would love to migrate to A16 without wiping but i am too scared to reinstall everything in case of bad dirty upgrade

@piero should I proceed to a16 via v 3.7 or can I jump directly to v4.0 ?
(to dirty, dirty and a half)
