Samsung Galasy S9 does not receive emergency alerts

I have a Galaxy S9 with /e/ version 3.2-s-20251022539006-official-starlte and can not receive emergency alerts since some time.

In the settings the emergency alerts are set ON

Can anyone please help.

doesn’t work for S7 either, the function got broken some time during updates between 2023 and 2024 from what I can tell
I assume it´s a Samsung specific issue but that is speculative
here´s a gitlab issue, I am not very confident that will /can be fixed given the available resources and/or overruling priorities

Thanks for the reply, but the problem is still existing.

Maybe it is also related to the fact that I don’t have data roaming available when abroad. Calling is working then but Signal for instance is not, only via wifi.

Sure it’s not solved yet, just as I said.

That is a different issue (emergency alerts do not rely on mobile data)… Have you doublechecked APN settings in your device vs. what your provider recommends?

Thanks for the reply, I did follow the instructions from my provider including a restart abroad.

If the problems remain, maybe I have to look for another small smartphone

This is reported many times. I suggest you ask your carrier if they provide mobile data while roaming; if yes perhaps report gaps in service. Some speculation but the “foreign roaming provider” may not be obliged to provide full mobile data coverage.

The issue may be to do with dynamic changing / interpretation of APN in this situation … AOSP is adjusting methods right now, new system maybe in 3.3 (details unseen, unconfirmed).
