Hi! I would love it if my phone was available to be deGoogled via this program! I’m trying to figure out how to homebrew it, but I’m not very well versed in this stuff, and there’s not a ton of resources out there for my phone’s specific model.
I don’t know what kind of ROM it runs, but it is official, mine currently runs Android 14, and it’s on One UI 6.1 (as in, I haven’t updated it in a very long time).
Traditionally Samsung phones marketed in USA have been required to have a locked bootloader. Sumsung identify these phones by a “U” at the end of the Product name.
Unless you find a source to tell you that you can unlock the Bootloader even a GSI will be impossible.
Even so, be sure you want to do it, as all Samsungs currently lose the ability to use Voice-over-LTE (VoLTE) calling when a custom ROM is installed. If 2G/3G has been shut down by your available carriers, or is to be shut down soon, you will not be able to make or receive phone calls, as the VoLTE implementation is required to call over LTE.
That is, unless you use a VOIP number via SIP on Android, or some similar service.
If you’re located in the U.S. or Canada (or only need a U.S. or Canada phone number), you could use JMP.chat (an XMPP-to-phone-networks service) for calls/SMS/MMS, and add any (separate) SIM/eSIM to provide the data connection.
