Samsung S9 with e-os 3 04 brightness problem and heating up

Hello,
Used my Samsung S9 normally and all worked perfect. Then I used magic earth (maps) for about an hour with screen. Suddenly the screen went black, but still on. It took me a while to find out that now it works fine on maximal brightness, but if I diminush the brightness it goes black screen. Sometimes the screen is flickering on other brightnesses and less black. Sometimes minimal brightness seems too work.
Tried out all brightness and battery settings and microG, no good.
And the phone is heating up anytime I use a map (organic maps, google maps) and sometimes with firefox.
Tried to see the runnkng services and maybe it is linked to microG. While heating up, microG services (4 location services) are active. Battery drains really fast (like from 40 to 0 in minutes).
So anyone has a suggestion before going to factory reset (not a good option for me)?

Soft reset, no data loss except unsaved work, on Samsung is press Power + Volume Down for extended time ~7 seconds

It is starting odin (download mode?) but I cannot see further instructions, because the screen is dark and blinking on the lower side. So I redid the 7 seconda vol power + key and it restarted normal. What should I do in Odin mode without seeing the screen?

Firstly these button press "Power + Volume Down for extended time " (from powered on) definitely should not lead to Odin mode which would be reached as:

With the device powered off - hold Volume Down + Bixby + Power.

It makes me think do you have you a problem with sticky hardware buttons (??). You might take the phone out of any case and carefully clean the switches and ports and check the action of each switch and that the button sits perfectly square to the case. I once cleaned switches and ports with a microscopic amount of silicone grease when buttons looked out of true and I had unexplainable problems on the phone.

I think that you can always leave Odin mode with very long press Power.

What you should experience with Soft reset looks quite like a regular Power down and restart but perhaps takes longer than usual.

However if you go into Download mode and see “non-normal behaviour” then this is most likely not an /e/OS issue as Odin Mode is at firmware / hardware level and should never look “interrupted” on properly working hardware.

Thank you for the explanation! I actually touched the bixby button at the same time. Tried restart with only down+ power twice, the problem persists.
Startup did not take longer.

So if you now deliberately boot into Odin mode do you see a perfectly normal screen?

No, it is still like buzzing and dark. Flickering describes it better. The samsung logo and the e symbol also flicker at startup.

So while this description is rather different from your /e/OS description earlier

It has quite a bit in common; I am inclined to think that this is a hardware problem.

I suggest you make your priority to get the phone backed up or try at least to copy as much as you can to SD card.

Ok, thank you. I will do that and keep informed.

Update:
So I have a new phone (by the way, copying app data is really a pain in the …) and finally made the factory reset via e-recovery. Unfortunately, the problem persist. Phone only works stable on maximum brightness and keeps flickering or dark screen on other brightness (sometime it works, but only for abut a minute).
I think it is either the screen or the battery, but changing it is more expensive than buying a new old phone and install e-os and no guaranty it works.
