Samsung service dial code / check frequency bands

Hi,

I am new on /e/ and on this forum.

I ordered a refurbished Samsung Galaxy S9 in the /e/ store running on /e/ OS, and so far I am very satisfied with it. However, I can’t seem to connect to 4G where I am (in the Netherlands).

Now I want to check the frequency bands in my phone to see which bands are supported.
I wanted to use the Samsung service dial code for the advanced service mode (’ *#2683662# '), but it doesn’t seem to work. I get an error message stating ‘Connection problem or invalide MMI code’.

Do you know if there a different way to check the supported frequency bands of my phone?

Hello @Bram_Duyx, first information about the baseband version used can be found at

Settings > About phone > Baseband Version MPSS…

Unfortunately, at first glance, these are much less meaningful. The info is clearer with StockROM G960FXX…

What information is displayed?

Settings > About phone > Status > SIM Status > Mobile network type

You may be able to get more info by using the code :
*#*#4636#*#*
For reference : https://www.askvg.com/google-android-hidden-secret-codes/

Not all codes “Hidden Secret Codes for Google Android Mobile Phones” and “Samsung Android Phones” work on phones with custom ROMs.

Thanks @archje,

Yes, I check my baseband version and the mobile network type, which was indeed fixed to H+.

However I realise now that I had set the network settings correctly (at Network & Internet > Mobile Network > Advanced > Preferred network type, it was set to 3G instead of LTE).
Stupid of me, my apologies.

Hi @smu44,

Yes, this code does actually work, thanks!
