A few days ago, I dropped my Teracube 2e and noticed that the screen came loose. (It’s about 2.3 years old, and I don’t know when the screen actually separated from the phone). When the case is on, everything stays together and works OK. When the case is removed, the screen does not stay attached to the phone, but it remains connected by a wire, and continues to work normally even while it’s separated.
I just brought it to a repair kiosk in a mall, and the technician told me it would need a new screen, since the bevel that attaches the screen was poor quality and had come off. She said that because it’s such generic hardware, she’s not able to get the right parts, including a new screen. And since the phone still works and the case still holds it together, I should probably just keep using it until it breaks, and then buy a new phone.
But this is not really what I expected, since the Teracube is designed to be eco-friendly and have replaceable parts. Does anyone have better advice what to do about this? Or have you seen similar hardware issues?
