Hi, I’ve just purchased a Fair Phone 3 and installed /e/ OS. I’ve signed up for an /e/ account and it’s given me an eeo.one email (rather than e.email).
Neither Thunderbird nor the /e/ Mail app have autodetected the settings and when I try this configuration (https://e.foundation/email-configuration/) it doesn’t work. I’ve also tried replacing the server with mail.eeo.one. I am able to log in to the account via the web client (https://eeo.one).
What is the server configuration for the eeo.one email?
Thanks @smu44, mail1 worked. The configuration is different to the ecloud.global settings @Manoj.
Here is the configuration for the eeo.one email:
SMTP/IMAP server: mail1.eeo.one SMTP/IMAP username: your /e/ email address in full (example: john.doe@eeo.one) SMTP/IMAP password: your /e/ email password SMTP port: 25, plain password, STARTTLS, requires authentication IMAP port: 143, STARTTLS, requires authentication
What is the difference between the eeo.one and e.email domains? I requested an account through a link on the ecloud page and just noticed it brought me to staging142.e.foundation/e-email-invite/. This created the eeo.one email.
Going through the invite like Manoj posted leads to e.foundation/e-email-invite/ and this creates a e.email account.
The confirmation emails when requesting both accounts is identical (and only makes reference to e.cloud.global and e.email in both).
This will give you an xxx@e.email account, which is easily configurable without manual configuration on most clients.
I will proceed to delete your eeo.one account on Monday 12th April; in fact those accounts and storages are periodically cleaned up without further notice.
The reason why you could create one is because there was a mistake in the new ecloud page, recently published. Those links are corrected now.
