Being in IT myself I totally know that stuff happens and things take time to resolve. However, what is more important in such a case is proper communication. I must not have to dig through a community post to learn the status. Very regular updates on Update on murena.io service outage (not just every 1 or 2 days) it something that is very doable, also in stress situations. When deadlines have been communicated and can’t be met for whatever good reason, be proactive and tell us and do not leave us in the dark. Thx. Good luck with the technical resolution.

I’ve read that the root could not be browsed, but the https://images.ecloud.global/dev/gts210vewifi either :

Not Found

The requested resource was not found on this server.

First I thought it was linked to the present outage, but it’s something else.
other devices download pages on images.ecloud.global are working, this might just be this one.

Install /e/OS on a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 Wi-Fi (2016) - “gts210vewifi” to be modified, as it has the link.

Edit: Only “chef” are missing, now.

We’d like to provide you with a quick update regarding the ongoing murena.io service outage:

– Email: We’re working hard to restore service, prioritizing premium accounts first, with a goal of reopening by tonight or tomorrow. For free accounts, the service is expected to resume by Monday afternoon (CEST). Some glitches and interruptions may occur during the first few days of reopening.
– Calendar & Contacts: Access will be restored by Monday afternoon (CEST).
– /e/OS OTA updates: /e/OS 2.4.1 update is available for all devices, as well as installation images, and it will be released to 100% of users by Monday.
– ETA for all other contents (files/pictures/videos) at murena.io is still uncertain as the relying infrastructure is not yet fully fixed and because each maintenance action on very large data volumes take a lot of time. We expect to provide an ETA beginning of next week.

– E-Mail: Wir arbeiten intensiv daran, den Dienst wiederherzustellen, wobei Premium-Konten zuerst priorisiert werden. Unser Ziel ist es, den Dienst bis heute Abend oder morgen wieder zu öffnen. Für kostenlose Konten wird erwartet, dass der Dienst bis Montagnachmittag (CEST) wieder aufgenommen wird. In den ersten Tagen nach der Wiedereröffnung können einige Störungen und Unterbrechungen auftreten.
– Kalender & Kontakte: Der Zugriff wird bis Montagnachmittag (CEST) wiederhergestellt.
– /e/OS OTA-Updates: Das /e/OS 2.4.1-Update ist für alle Geräte verfügbar, ebenso wie Installationsbilder, und es wird bis Montag an 100 % der Nutzer ausgeliefert.

Looks like Email service has been restored for me, as i am seeing todays emails along with other emails from earlier this week.

Working in tech myself, i understand that issues can happen even when prevention systems are in place. Thank you for all your hard work /e/ team. Lets learn from this and make this ecosystem even better.

Yes, my email seems to be restored as well. Receiving new emails and some old ones.

My test email from another account got bounced and has never reached my murena inbox. This I already expected as I had received the bounce email in this other account. However, I do not know what happens to calendar invitations, do the senders also receive a bounce notification?

Emails received today. Due to a different issue that occurred a week ago, phone continually engaged even though it wasn’t and no phone numbers registered had to use Proton Mail which I had before I got an e.email account. Congrats to the team who have been working on this. Anecdote: Look on the bright side, at least it was not as bad an event that happened many years ago with squirrel mail; an engineer updating the mail server forgot which drive he was working on and not only wiped out business emails but also user accounts!

Receiving mails works, sending not.

Sending is disabled for now - to avoid overloading the servers. We will do further work on the weekend and gradually open up sending once it is confirmed the new setup can handle the load. Expect both sending and receiving will be working by Monday.

so you actually have no paied service anymore? So why you asking for answers? And then again, what else should he answer in the middle of work, when they already stated they are restoring or trying to restore things? Exspecting answers on a regualry basis is one thing but exspecting answers when ther is no change is just stupid. Years ago I lost half of my email when I was with google and yes try to get money or ANYTHING back from google. Stopp comparing murena with google. One is a tech giant, which was ones small and made also misstakes and the other is growing. Everything which except my emails, is backed up at home. I dont trust any cloud services. Writing here that you are switching is of no interesst for no one and does not hurt murena. It is your fault entirly that you have no backup plan, not murenas. You knew at the beginning that they are a beginning company. And in 4 years with all they did dont exspect things you cant deliver yourself.

In the search for an OS that keeps Google out , I stumbled upon /e/Os .
That looked very promising . although it looked like not everything Google related had been removed from the OS .
What was less good is the Forum , which actually looks more like a noticeboard anno 1980 , untidy messy , and another point was the lagging of the Roms compared to the release Android . vb Android V is already out and /e/ is still running on android T.

But another attractive point about this OS was that they offered Email , Calendar and Contacts as a provider .
So no more need for Google , which was nice .
But apparently they took a wrong turn at /e/ or now Murena .
Because suddenly everything is on its ass , and not for a few hours or a day , but certainly for a week , and maybe even longer .
The fact that it has taken so long to fix it does not inspire confidence in Murena . added to that , in my view , the management of Murena /e/ ignored the users . It seems as if they started this without ever having thought about building in a proper backup .
My faith in /e/ and Murena are utterly shattered.

I could not figure out from the information on the different posts if the emails that I was supposed to recieve in the past week - will be delivered eventually or are they lost forever ?

I am asking because I am missing a very important email and I still don’t know if i should contact the senders or not.

I would be grateful if someone could help me clarify this. Thank you in advance.

You should go ahead and contact them requesting them to resend the mail just to be on the safe side. While we are opening up the services and most emails should be still available, due to the duration of the outage there is a possibility some of the emails from the initial period may be missing if the sender stopped attempting delivery.

If you have not received it, contact them. I have received a couple of mails but not all of them. I asked the sender what happened and he said he got a undelivered mail message.

I am a sponsor and we have accounts under subscription. But apparently we are not premium.
I say this because, in our case, nothing has worked at all.
