Signature Verification Failed Moto G 5G Plus

Using /e/OS Setup
1

Hi all,

Im trying to install e/os on the Moto G 5G Plus following the guide Install /e/OS on a Motorola Moto G 5G Plus / Motorola One 5G - “nairo”

I’ve unlocked the bootloader and flashed the recovery.img file recommended in the guide, however when I get to sideloading the .zip file in the firmware partition section of the guide i get the error

ERROR: Failed to verify whole file signature

Update package verification took 0.1 s (result 1).

ERROR: recovery: Signature verification failed

ERROR: recovery: error: 21

In my terminal the installation progress stops at 47% and when I stop the installation progress I get the message

total xfer: 1.00x

I’ve googled and seen some similar errors but unsure what specifically to do.

any suggestions appreciated.

It is normal for the progress to stop at 47%, total xfer: 1.00x means the transfer finished, have you reboot yet?
