SOLVED - Connecting to Apple Music

I could not find a way to reply to @bubble‘s post about connecting to Apple Music, so I’m creating a new topic with the solution I discovered.

Much like what’s described in the original post, whenever I opened Apple Music, I would see the clocking screen with a disabled button at the bottom. What worked for me was:

  1. Swipe backward on that clocking screen to reveal the main application display (not logged in)
  2. Select the three dots menu the top right-hand corner
  3. Select the “Settings” option
  4. Select the first option listed to Sign In using your Apple ID account
  5. Follow the prompts (possibly providing authorization from an Apple device registered to your Apple ID)

I did not have to add any Google account to the microG settings as @Agge suggested. However, I did have to make two attempts at providing my Apple ID credentials.

For completeness, I’m running /e/OS 3.3-a14-202512xxx-official-FP4 on a Fairphone 4 and have Apple Music version 5.1.0 installed.

If you’re running Apple Music on a device with a large screen (e.g., a tablet), then the clocking screen appears as a modal that you can dismiss by just tapping on the home screen behind it.
