I really like the convenience of the installation from the /e/OS updater and a USB stick (on the contrary, I despised the first /e/OS installation from Android 8…), therefore I would be pleased to continue with that, but I would like to be sure that there is nothing left from the previous user …
You are right, I am always asking because I am unsure what to do, and afraid of having to start from scratch … due to my poor practice, I cannot still forget the first installation, that was a pain to me … I was pretty happy when you suggested the “dirty upgrade” in the past , as I could easily perform it.
Regarding the two options, I feel more comfortable with the second method you mentioned, since I can proceed with my usual process of updating from a USB stick, after erasing all the data as you said. If there are no difference between the two methods, I will go for the second (as soon as I get hold of the XA2).
Here we are! New year (happy New Year to all the /e/OS team and users of the forum) , new upgrade . My Sony is now running on 3.3-a15-20251211556482-community-pioneer (after a couple of trials: first installation failed, error message saying I had to “format” whatever partition and reinstall…).
Since it is long time = I was in an old version on /e/OS when I used my Sony as daily driver , I have a couple of questions:
how is it possible to quickly modify the volume of the phone ring / sms notifications? I remember that I used to press the volume buttons to move from vibration to full volume for ring and SMS notifications, but it seems now that they affect the media volume only if I do not open the menu by pressing the < button below the media volume…
wireless emergency alerts : is it possible to avoid having them read aloud as soon as they are received?
