Still issues with the Norwegian app Vipps

I have read a few posts about the norwegian Payment app Vipps, and have tried previous suggestions to how to make this app work, like:

  • adding links to what the norwegian app BankID should be able to open
  • changing standard browser
  • watching suggestions on youtube

I am able to set up the app, but as soon as I authenticate through the BankID app, the process shows a link to api.vipps/mobileintercept, and then… nothing. The screen only shows the link but doesn’t continue.

As Vipps is one of those apps that, as another person said, are crucial, I am still hoping to find an idea on how Vipps can be run on /e/os. The alternative is actually to find an operating system that allows me to remove MicroG, so that I can install the unwanted but necessary Google Play app.

Any idea would be appreciated.

Well…

It seems like I had to add yet another link. By doing so, I am able to set up the app again. I do not know if that will make the app more stable, so I’ll have to use it for some time first.

I’d consider it a bug that the checkboxes do not get checked on app install.

The authorization hand back a secret in a url to the app, that the app needs to be allowed to see. Without the auth flow breaks.
