I went through your thread and screenshots and think things should work™ - it’s unlocked, verity is disabled, you reset userdata already. As aibd says, trying reflashing latest Android 9 stockrom is a good idea to have a clean starting ground.
You can also search for “evert” in the forum, sort by recent and make out other users to ask if they have a working device and what worked for them. At times they’re in the device- and/or feedback threads.
That is the reason for me sending the first link but Moto source does include some clues to install. Maybe you will do better to start from Motorola support, there are official tools and https://xdaforums.com/t/index-motorola-stock-firmware.4222605/
Sorry, but I will give up. Solutions are geting more complicated every time. Have to stuck with google.
If there would be an easy solution, ok, but this is too much time spent for me.
Thank you for your advices.
Fixed wifi using the PPW29.116-20-28 build instead of the 20-20 build. By the way: How can anyone who know which build to chose?
So these are my specs.
Everything works fine so far (location, wifi, sensors, camera,…)
But I do not see why e-os installation should work now when it did not work before.
My guess it that this exact build from.my phone is not supported by the e-os build, probably a problem with wifi or location. But what can I do in order to make it work?
You need to have the build with the latest Vendor Security Patch.
Just an imaginary example, near the end of life of a phone a Vendor firmware might be released with errors, then a little while later the fix, then no more releases. /e/OS will be built on this latest build.
This is the build which must be on the phone before you install /e/.
Some research to see if that is the last update recorded by others ??
If anyone with evert is reading along and you state the Vendor SPL of your build they may be able to confirm the Vendor SPL of their running evert /e/OS … it would be great if these “final” Vendor SPL were more publicly shared – as this for ocean (ofc no good to you).
This tool recommended for G7 works for G6 plus and “rescuing” (installing STOCK ROM) is easy on windows. Can we link it on the G6plus install page as it is in G7?
That would be very helpful.
I will try installing e-os again, but I am pretty sure the lineage OS build only works for the 20.20 build and not the 20.28.
But know I should be able to rollback to Stock easily.
So I reinstalled e-recovery. When I retry installing copy-partitions-20220613-signed.zip by sideload, recovery says “signature variation failed. Install anyway?”
Sorry, my fault, the question was: Why did the verfication fail?
And should I still try installing copy-partitions-20220613-signed.zip even if signature validation failed or should I install e-os directly?
