Dear /e/OS Development Team,
First of all, I would like to thank you for your incredible work on /e/OS. I truly appreciate your commitment to providing a privacy-focused, Google-free Android experience. Your dedication to open-source software and user privacy is commendable.
I am currently running /e/OS version 3.2 (build: e-3.2-a14-20251025540136-community-z3s) on my Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra (SM-G988B - Exynos variant), and while the overall experience has been positive, I have encountered a few persistent issues that I believe warrant your attention for future updates:
1. Bluetooth Call Audio Issue (Incoming Audio)
- Problem: When connected to car Bluetooth systems (tested in two different vehicles), I cannot hear the caller during phone calls, although they can hear me perfectly.
- Working: Bluetooth music streaming works flawlessly in both cars.
- Working: The microphone works fine (outgoing audio is clear).
- Not working: Incoming call audio is completely silent on my end.
- Note: This issue does not occur with regular phone calls (without Bluetooth) or when using speakerphone mode.
2. Network Connectivity Issues
- Problem A: The mobile network signal occasionally disconnects or drops, even when I remain stationary in areas with normally good coverage.
- Problem B: During active phone calls, the network switches from LTE/4G to H+ (3G), which prevents simultaneous use of mobile data/internet.
- Impact: This makes it impossible to use navigation apps, check information, or use any data services while on a call.
Device Information:
- Model: Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra (SM-G988B - Exynos)
- /e/OS Version: 3.2 (e-3.2-a14-20251025540136-community-z3s)
- Android Version: 14
- Bootloader: Unlocked
- Root: Magisk installed
- Recovery: TWRP 3.6.1
Steps Already Attempted:
- Cleared cache partition via TWRP
- Reset network settings
- Forced LTE-only mode (via ##4636## menu)
- Tested Bluetooth with multiple vehicles (issue persists in all)
- Verified that other phones work correctly with the same car systems
These issues significantly impact daily usability, particularly the Bluetooth call problem which affects hands-free calling safety while driving.
Would it be possible to investigate and address these issues in an upcoming /e/OS update? I would be happy to provide additional logs, debugging information, or test beta builds if that would help resolve these problems.
Once again, thank you for your hard work and for creating such a valuable alternative to mainstream Android distributions. I look forward to seeing /e/OS continue to improve and evolve.
Best regards,
[Ton nom]
