Summer Contest: Best Photos on Your /e/OS Phones

/e/OS uses a fork of Open Camera.

Depending on the actual camera hardware in tetris … it may be worth to experiment with a GCam port; the “correct” port may include Nothing proprietary blobs as used in regular Android.

This is an excellent hub containing both stable and more experimental ports. Be prepared to study and follow the FAQ.

It looks better. But i will make photo’s tomorrow to test. This port is still blocking the G?

Thanks.

Gcam page shows this security warning Safety Warning About the Google Camera Port.

One can ensure on install that the camera has minimal permissions.

The GCam ports I used until today (three or four) did never, not a single time, try to contact any server. My RethinkDNS would log such tries even when they are blocked.

Some of the photos in this post are indeed breathtaking. Nature in all its glory cannot be captured, but some of these photos show us amazing glimpses.

Submit your entries by the 5th of October. This would also be the time to vote for the photos you think stand out in composition and settings.

The photo below is an artistic creation using freshly dropped and collected conkers. I am designing GNU/Linux Wallpapers, this one for PCLOS. I am going to make another, creating a Debian swirl and mesh them for a fork of PCLOS, PCLOS Debian ‘naturally’! The creator of PCLOS, TexStar is clearly from Texas and the official logo is a Texas Longhorn.

So where does the Voting take place?

The photos with the maximum number of user likes are the main candidates.

I was checking and this was the list based on likes till 5th of October

Arranged in the format of user ID, likes and link

**1. Ahappo,21,

**2. iamvuk,18,

**3. okonomiyaki,16,

**4. Massgun808,12,

**5. maestr0,11,

**6. aldonogueira,11,

**7. thisau,11,

**8. grzecel,10,

**9. martijnv,10,

**10. irrlicht,10,

Some other photos which also look great but may not exactly have got all the likes

1. Ahappo — midnight sun, Northern Finland. Layers of pines, mist, and the sun held in the treeline.

2. okonomiyaki — Fuji at sunrise, Tanuki Lake. Clean silhouette and a near-perfect reflection.

3. iamvuk — ridge above the clouds. Almost nothing in the frame, and that restraint is the picture.

4. martijnv — sunset, Stockholm. Skyline light, coloured water, tower and boats anchoring the bottom.

5. Massgun808 — golden hour, English Bay, Vancouver. Low sun, ships on the horizon, wet sand in front.

6. irrlicht — Val Lavaz, Switzerland. Light shafts over the valley, a small tarn as the stop.

7. maestr0 — alpine panorama. Wide frame that still holds the hut, snowfield, and ridge.

8. thisau — ibex on Roche Robert. The rock edge frames the animals instead of crowding them.

9. aldonogueira — bay and Sugarloaf. Boats lead across the water to the mountain.

10. iamvuk — alpine lake. Foreground rock, still water, and a peak under a heavy sky.
