There is support for other Moto G phones, such as Moto G52, but not G56, which is the phone I use. As it stands, the Motorola Moto G56 is locked to Android, and that really sucks! No support for LineageOS either, but I digress.
My suggestion is to check custom ROM availability BEFORE buying devices:
