Tasks Widget didnt open Tasks in App since Update 1.4.4 and / or eOS 3.4

Vendor Name FP
Device name FP6
Version of /e/OS 3.4 and 3.5
The is device Not rooted

since the Update of my FP6 to 3.4 tasks didnt work well (known bug, fixed in 1.4.4/.5).

But since tasks as self is working there is a new problem u only can find if u use a launcher with widget. The Problem occures with the default launcher and lawnchair too.

I reset my entire phone to figure out if this is a problem on lawnchair or the app.
As far i can say there is a Problem between widget and the app, because packet manager shows me the correct deeplinks.

regards

I have the same problem with the Forecastie widget, but I’m using iodéOS, on a Sony (unofficial build), with OpenLauncher. I’m not sure when the issue started, but it could have been attributable to an update a few months ago, I suppose.

I’ve tried reverting to the iodé stock launcher, and also uninstalling/reinstalling Forecastie, to no effect.

Maybe there was some bug introduced from LineageOS, since we’re seeing the behavior on both /e/OS and iodéOS. [EDIT: … albeit in different apps]

I also have this bug with my FP3 on the Tasks Widget app since the eOS 3.4 update. Still present on eOS 3.5 (official).
Tasks app update to version 1.4.4/.5 didn’t solve the issue.

I’ve got this widget to recognize taps again:

  • I uninstalled the app from F-Droid.
  • Then I installed the previous update of the app.
  • I set up the homescreen widget again and confirmed that tapping it was operational again.

But:

  • Then I updated the app to the current version once more.
  • Widget was then non-functional, as before.

So there is a bug in the latest update, I suppose.

  • I reverted to the next-to-latest update again and restored functionality.

Not the best practice, I know, but at least it’s working again. Not being able to register a tap meant that even just removing the widget required deleting my default home screen, then re-adding a home screen, just to get rid of the non-responsive widget.

I cant follow…

What did u down or upgrade, app or os?

Edit: i understand, but cant downgrade tasks to 1.4.3, because i’m on os 3.5

Forecastie is an app that I had installed from F-Droid. Its home screen widget was working fine until an update to the app caused it to malfunction.

Technicallly, I didn’t “downgrade” or “upgrade” it to fix it. I uninstalled it, then reinstalled an earlier version of the app.

Why not? Is it a pre-installed app with /e/OS that can’t be uninstalled, then reinstalled as an earlier version of the app?

thats right, in e/OS3.5 its the systemapp with default 1.4.5.

I may have the version 1.4.3 as local copy.

If u “uninstall” then u have the problem, thats the app is found as default in recovery, so u cant downgrade to 1.4.3

I hate it all.
