Just tried to open an account with Tesco Bank … which i reversed out of.
During the application you are advised about data gathering, and that you will be ‘profiled’ … upon reading the Privacy Policy:
it states:
*Within the payments (authentication) screen we will collect behavioural biometrics data. This looks at various behaviours such as how you move your mouse and keystroke analysis e.g. how you type and the speed at which you type.
In order to provide our products to you, we have to share some of your data with partners we work with.*
privacy rights a victim of anti-fraud, anti-bot heuristics? gov id things could probably help, if they themselves wouldn’t be walled into duopoly platforms.

What was it - £8 billion the UK government burnt on introducing a national NHS health data base, which was a failure … ironically one of the ‘partners’ Fujitsu (who bought the carcass of ICL) sued the UK Governement for £30 million for breaching contract !
However was not one of the stumbling blocks data privacy issues sharing between Health Trusts …
Anyway didnt want this to become a rant - but how as ‘citizens’ do we protect against such invasive technology … the Tesco Bank bangs on about ‘legitimate interests’ and ‘public interest’.
Yes quite, politicians do listen (mostly), if enough people make a noise, but I fear this is such a niche area - that many some politicians do not understand it - or comprehend the implications.
