Whenever mainstream news outlets start mentioning alternatives I naturally become suspicious edit of the alternatives. With that said I should be happy that they increasing awareness. I didn’t even read the article because I refuse to accept all cookies.
I don’t understand why they don’t talk about mastodon…
I think it is always good to point at valid alternatives, especially in “mainstream news” that are noted by quite a lot of people.
And people that know those topics in way more detail will always find gaps or shortcomings in what or how it is presented, but that’s just natural imo.
