Transaction within an app is not possible

I use an FP5 and recently tried to purchase the premium version of the Forest app. Unfortunately, the transaction doesn’t seem possible because it appears to only work through the Google Play Store. After entering my Google account password, an error message appears stating there’s no internet connection. Is there any way to perform such transactions on this de-Googled operating system?

You can connect to your google account in app lounge but doing so completely defeats the purpose of using Murena /e/ OS in the first place.

I did, but it is somehow still not working

Any chance to get the premium version of that app from alternate place, like FDroid, APK or similar? That could possibly help? :open_mouth:

What is the full name of the app? What type of an app is it and by who?

The full Name is “Forest: Focus for Productivity” by seekrtech. What do you mean with ‘type of an app’?

I am able to install the app from the app lounge in anonymous mode, open it and I got as far as registering. It offers to register with an email or google. Because your phone is de-googled I recommend using an email other than a gmail, not associated to gmail.

I think to logout of google in the app store you can open app store then close it. Go to settings in the phone then Apps > Recently opened app and select App Lounge. In the App Lounge info select Storage and Cache then clear both of them. Now go back to the App Lounge and install the Forest app in anonymous mode.

What version of eOS is your phone at? Mine is at 3.7.3.

My e/os Version is 4.0. I can install the APP without and problems. My problem is just the buying of the premium Version.

I was also able to install the regular app but it declares itself Google dependent.

If the upgrade transaction counted as an “in app purchase” then you might hope to be using the facility of

Settings > System > App compatibility > Play store services > Handle billing requests (experimental)

However the upgrade transaction may be in a different part of Google dependence, idk.
