Is this a temporary problem?
You can try again to eliminate any issue on the server. If you are still facing issue pl send a mail to support@e.email with the details. This is a public channel and for privacy reasons it is better to take discussions related to account creation offline.
Maybe this is a general issue?

I had the same problem yesterday
and today. Tried several times, even by re-sending me an invitation mail. No success. BUT THEN:
I changed the password form and - HURRAH, ACCOUNT CREATION SUCCEEDED! 
yes, special characters or at least some of them are not working
