I am in the US on T-Mobile, using a CMF Phone 1 (3.1.4). I can send/receive texts with associates in Japan, but photos fail to send/receive.
My T-Mobile plan enables me to text mobile numbers in Japan directly, and I followed T-Mobile’s recommended APN settings, but am unable to send pics.
I also found the recommended T-Mobile APN settings on this forum, but those don’t work, either.
I can send/receive pics with other phone users in the US, and other than this issue, I am not having any problems with messaging.
My understanding is that, when sending a pic to a recipient in Japan, the message app uses MMS, which requires that I am connected to my mobile network, as this won’t work on Wi-Fi only.
In my APN settings, I can see two T-Mobile settings:
T-Mobile US (I use this one)
fast.t-mobile. com
T-Mobile MMS (not selectable, but I can edit settings)
TMUS
I’m not sure my understanding is 100% correct, nor do I know how to resolve this issue. Any advice, suggestions, or commiseration would be greatly appreciated.
