Hello,

I’m using your image in a A40.

Could you please create an Android 14 image? The font size settings are better there.

Hi ronnz98,

I have been using your previous build: Download e-3.4-a14-20260129-UNOFFICIAL-a40.zip (eOSBuildsRonnz98) . I have been having some issues with MicroG and the app lounge sometimes not downloading apps, so I might want to give your new build a try. How would I go about installing it? Do I have to wipe my entire system because it is a different android version or is there a way around this?

My StockOS base was Android 11 and the latest StockOS is also Android 11, but since I’m moving from an /e/ build on Android 14 back to one on Android 13, I should probably perform a clean flash anyway to avoid data incompatibility, right?

There were no signifiant change in file structure between a13 and a14…

I first installed F-Droid

and then via F-Droid

Aurora Store

The installed store is a bit buggy, but e-os updated it to version 3.7.

Hello !
Thanks @ronnz98 for providing these ROMs. On a A20e I have tried the dirty upgrade from /e/ 3.4 in TWRP but I was stuck on the splash screen (e with the jumping dot below).
I’ve successfully reinstalled the 3.4 in TWRP and it works. I will retry tomorrow after wiping data and see if it makes a difference.

EDIT :
I double-checked both md5 and SHA sums on the device, to make sure the files were not corrupted during the transfer
I tried the upgrade from the settings menu (local update) but it didn’t work
Retried the upgrade from TWRP after wiping everything (apart from data) but I have the same result (blocked on first screen)

EDIT 2 :
I did a full format, reboot to TWRP, then download and install, and it worked !
So I guess you need to do a complete install, not just the dirty upgrade…

So e-3.7 UNOFFICIAL is working with Galaxy A20e !

If you did that using TWRP, i think your /data partition is no more encrypted…

Thanks for the information @piero. Do you have any recommendations about how to re-encrypt ?
Maybe installing from /e/recovery, but I didn’t know how to install it ?
Do you have any resources about re-encrypting, about installing e-recovery on this device ?
Thanks in advance

Community builds automatically install the recovery-e, but ronnz may have disable the feature to preserve already installed custom-recovery.

Same procedure as for TWRP

You should find the recovery-e into ronnz’s .ZIP

Hi @piero it seems that this device (A20e) is quite complicated, and I will need more guidance I think.

I had a look at this topic about encryption and I confirmed : my device is not encrypted anymore, and I have no option to encrypt it again.

My original install was e-3.4-a14-20260129-UNOFFICIAL-a20e after installin TWRP using Odin (tar archive containing twrp and vbmeta, downloaded from XDA), and decrypting data, then install with the zip file, etc… Did I miss something ?
I read again the HowTo install guide I see the format/type “yes” step to decrypt the partition, but I don’t see anything about re-encrypting the device afterwards.

I understand from your previous answer, and also from reading this thread that this is a limitation with twrp, that we can’t have an encrypted device ?

So, will installing /e/ through e-recovery allow data encryption ?

The problem is, when I try to flash the recovery.img extracted from e-3.7 UNOFFICIAL archive, it fails and the device refuses to boot.
I have read and tried many variants, like sudo odin4 -a recovery.tar -b vbmeta.tar from this howto, extracting the vbmeta included with twrp and serving it as a .tar archive

and also tried what you suggest in this post :

heimdall flash --DTB dtb.img --DTBO dtbo.img --BOOT boot.img --RECOVERY recovery.img --no-reboot

but everytime the device fails to reboot, and I have to get back to Odin mode and reflash TWRP again (the same archive, including vbmeta).

Do you have any clues about flashing e-recovery over twrp on this particuliar device (A20e) ?

You should simply use the install feature in TWRP

You should simply format /data using the recovery-e

I tried with the “install” menu in twrp, then “install image”, pick the recovery.img file and apply to the recovery partition, but unfortunately, i have the same boot-loop

I really don’t understand what I’m doing wrong…

Hi, tried that, worked in my A40, unfortunately only after erasing data. Just found e-3.7.1-a14-20260423-UNOFFICIAL-a40 on SourceForge, installed that, could install without data erase. Seems also to work, thanks!

I just tried it on my A30
It works very well
Though I had to switch the browser to Brave since the adblocking on the integrated browser doesn’t work well, others were heavenly smooth
