Booted just fine in my A70, haven’t tested everything yet but so far no issues at all.
It’s also very fluid.
Thank you for your work! :muscle:

I want to buy this phone A70 from my friend to test it, but first I want to know if I can go back to the stock ROM if something goes wrong?

Also, this topic will close soon, is there any newer version of it?

Second question, will it just install from official TWRP?

Third, my model is SM-A705FN/DS, so it’s A70? It says Model Name: A70

Method / How to :

samfw.com
.

Download :
french firmware for this device https://samfw.com/firmware/SM-A705FN/XEF/A705FNXXU5DXD2

Thank you for more detailed answer. I just want to know if it’s possible, because if /e/OS is bad, I just want to give this phone back to my friend.

what are the OS you can run on your PCs ?

Linux (Arch) and Windows on laptop.

so you need to use one of this tools to go back to stock SamsungOS :

Thanks!

I never thought that Odin is also for Linux, I used Heimdall and adb.

using Heimdall in case of flashing full Samsung Firmware is is very complicate (numerous partitions and files)

Exactly, that’s why I’m grateful for your recommendation of Odin 4 Linux. Thank you!

I have a problem. Trying to upload TWRP with Odin and it fails.

First I did enable OEM Unlock (in programmers mode), but on download mode it says:

FRP Lock : OFF

OEM Lock : ON (U)

Had similar situation with m21 Samsung, no matter what it didn’t allow me to unlock OEM

Confirmed on Linux:

Initialising connection…
Detecting device…
Claiming interface…
Initialising protocol…
ERROR: Failed to send handshake!
ERROR: Protocol initialisation failed!

Releasing device interface…

please have a read at Install /e/OS on a Samsung Galaxy A71 - “a71”
look like flashing the vbmeta.img is needed along to the recovery.img

All well and good, but I cannot unlock the Bootloader, don’t you think that it’s a first step?

Am I wrong that I think it’s still locked?

Edit : your picture show bootloader “unlockable” but still locked…

.

in Install /e/OS on a Samsung Galaxy A71 - “a71” we can read :

    • From within the Developer options menu, enable OEM unlock.
  • Power off the device, and boot it into download mode:
  • hold Volume Down + Volume Up and connect the USB cable to PC.
  • Now, click the button that the onscreen instructions correlate to “Device unlock mode” and/or “Unlock Bootloader”.

Edit : you will read something like “press and long hold volume up”

Yes, and also it’s:

“Before following these instructions please ensure that the device is on the latest Android 13 firmware.”

And my Android is 11, so I’m afraid to try.

I also confirmed after restart that OEM is unlocked.

Can you provide instructions, how did you install on your A70. Thanks!

I relocked OEM Unlock and now it says (on download mode):

OEM Lock : ON (L)

and before was:

OEM Lock : ON (U)

So this confused me, and probably means that:

OEM Lock : ON (U)

that is unlocked. I will try to unlock it again.

this warning is about Samsung A71, not A70…

latest SamsungOS available for your device is based on android 11,

so you are right with your android 11,
you can check installed version on your device in
“settings --> about the phone --> android 11 --> installed version”..

So, should I try to ignore my Android 11? And try to install “vbmeta.img” anyway?
