@piero
Thank you for your reply.
It’s been a while since I installed eos on my S5 so I’ve forgotten how it’s done. Correct me if I’m wrong but my understanding is that:

  • eos-T (and unofficial builds) = more cutting edge and “works beautifully” but not as straightforward to install (I suppose that’s what “adb sideload not possible” alludes to)
  • Legacy builds = official builds: not as recent but tried and tested, installing is safe(r)

I’ve only got one phone and I want to make it last so I suppose I should probably stick with legacy am I right?
Many thanks

Hi,
Thanks for your help.
When you say “will be dropped soon”, does it mean it will no longer be maintained (no updates?)
If so, going for OS-T and OS-U seems to make more sense (assuming they’re fully operational and will be maintained for a while…) doesn’t it?
Thanks a million

Hello ronnz98,

i did an update from e-2.9-t-20250408-UNOFFICIAL-klte.zip.
Using TWRP 3.7.0_9-0-klte.img. and sd-card, just commands as "install, delete dalvik and cache, reboot.
My twrp ist still there on the phone! (no e-recovery instead)

/e/OS ist working fine, all basic apps (except e-messages, that crashes as in e-2.9-t-xxx). Replaced with fossify-messages, works!
App-lounge always shows “refresh session”, after tapping “ignore” it starts and works.

Wifi, 4g/lte, calls, sms working!

You are doing a great job making those precious former flagships running with A13 :clinking_glasses:

Thanks a lot! :four_leaf_clover:

Edit : Correction! App-Lounge does not work. Replaced with F-Droid and Aurora Store.

Hello and thank you for your great work with supporting this old phone. We have four S5s in family and I’m using this build on one of them, today I will try to update another. Integrated sms messages app crashes, so I used alternative, but everything other works. I like these phones, because they are small and photos are quite good.
