Hello @Neville, Welcome to the /e/ forum.

.

have a look there :

.

But if you want to stay with Official /e/OS sources, you can use

@piero
Thank you for your reply.
It’s been a while since I installed eos on my S5 so I’ve forgotten how it’s done. Correct me if I’m wrong but my understanding is that:

  • eos-T (and unofficial builds) = more cutting edge and “works beautifully” but not as straightforward to install (I suppose that’s what “adb sideload not possible” alludes to)
  • Legacy builds = official builds: not as recent but tried and tested, installing is safe(r)

I’ve only got one phone and I want to make it last so I suppose I should probably stick with legacy am I right?
Many thanks

/e/OS-R “LEGACY” builded by myself (so, unofficial in that aspect)
using official Android 11 sources from /e/OS (dropped in v2.2 - july 2024)
and official device sources from LineageOS

/e/OS-S “UNOFFICIAL” builded by @ronnz98
using official Android 12 sources from /e/OS (will be dropped soon)
but unofficial device sources from XDA forum (unofficial LineageOS)

/e/OS-T “UNOFFICIAL” builded by @ronnz98
using official Android 13 sources from /e/OS
but unofficial device sources from LineageOS Ultra Legacy Team (modified LineageOS)

/e/OS-U “UNOFFICIAL” builded by @ronnz98
using official Android 14 sources from /e/OS
but unofficial device sources from LineageOS Ultra Legacy Team (modified LineageOS)

Hi,
Thanks for your help.
When you say “will be dropped soon”, does it mean it will no longer be maintained (no updates?)
If so, going for OS-T and OS-U seems to make more sense (assuming they’re fully operational and will be maintained for a while…) doesn’t it?
Thanks a million
