This worked for me, thank you!
Hello, I will have to flash a A40 for someone and I was wondering can you confirm that yours has a Exynos 7904 chipset?
Since the title of the topic mention Exynos 7885 it makes me doubt the compatibility
compare device codename, here it is for “a40”
| Retail Branding | Marketing Name | Device | Model |
|---|---|---|---|
| Samsung | Galaxy A40 | a40 | SM-A405FM |
| Samsung | Galaxy A40 | a40 | SM-A405FN |
| Samsung | Galaxy A40 | a40 | SM-A405S |
Yes, I have the codename it’s SM-A405FN/DS, but the thing is all the A40 seems to have an Exynos 7904 and not an Exynos 7885 (you can check the three models you listed on gsmarena or another website) ![]()
The postmarketos wiki seems to say the 7904 is “a variant of 7885 with improved ISP and underclocked big cores at 1.8 GHz.” ( Samsung Exynos 7885 - postmarketOS Wiki )
This is why I asked @MarkA40 because I think they might have, like probably all the A40, an exynos 7904 and the ROM works because it’s basically the same chipset, but I want to be sure it’s not a strange model of an A40 with maybe a 7885 instead ![]()
Hi! I’m using a30s and it’s my only smartphone. It would be great if you can explain to me, if something changed with it’s hardware support since September. Can I use it now as is?
I don’t want my phone to disrupt my ordinary life, although Samsung’s bullshit tires me down. Thank you.
A20e is fully working with the latest build 20250914. Is there any chance of building this for the Samsung A22 5G? (SM-A226B)
I’m not aware of sources for the A22 5G
