Which recovery are you using?
Just installed the newer build uploaded by @ronnz98 . Working fine.
Installion steps.
Extract the zip. Flash the extracted recovery.img from the zip.
Reboot to recovery, format, sideload the zip and wait. Reboot once done.
Camera still not working, app lounge not working reliably, use aurora and F-droid. Will upload more test results.

Can you send me the drivers you used for ADB?
I did not use any special drivers. Using Debian operating system, so installed adb from the repository. Just using that.
Just for documentation purposes adding the screenshot of camera not working.

Tried flashing the recovery from this build, my phone is not getting detected in my fastboot devices , device can boot in older recovery, but after flashing the zip, it reboots back to fastboot where it does not get detected on my device.
even dmesg -w does not show any activity when device get’s connected.
It shows activity when older recovery is booted.

Also tried sideloading new zip through the existing older recovery. This time it also gave error for a signature verification failed.
PANIC, device only booting to fastboot mode, even after flashing the zip. Tried with multiple reboots.

I’m thinking of installing /e/OS on my kid’s old Redmi Note 5.
