'Unsupported app'

Hi all. I recently installed /e/OS on my Xiaomi Redmi 4A and I honestly love it. It works like a charm.

I encountered an issue lately and I don’t know how to deal with it.

This is an app for my local bus operator. It doesn’t show up when I search for it in App Lounge. When I click the link from the browser, this is what shows up.
I use the app with no issues on another phone with MIUI from Google Play.
VPN is disabled, my real IP address is not hidden. I would understand if I couldn’t get this app if I was in another country but I am right here and was here through the entire installation process!

I would appreciate any support.

play store decides upon device/language/account settings if you’re offered the apk, then applounge logic comes on top. I looked into a similar thread 2 yrs ago - but user came out at a device incompatibility.

If a account reset (via clearing AppLounge caches) doesn’t help, you could try a real Google account.

When I installed Tfl live on an unofficial build I got a more direct error

I did manage to Add to Home screen of Browser this https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/buses/live-bus-arrivals.

Location untested (as I am not in London) but the display found “Next bus” fine from known bus stops.

It may be possible to navigate to your local bus operator, or use Favourites to reduce complexity.

Apropos the “unofficial” error, the 05-01-2024 comment here https://shkspr.mobi/blog/2023/12/tfl-are-blocking-rooted-devices-from-accessing-maps-how-to-fix/#comment-363414 reads:

I raised this with my London Assembly Member and TfL said this:

Hi Anne,
Thank you for your email on behalf f your constituent, Ariel.
This restriction has been added to TfL Go in preparation for a change coming in the near future – we are adding functionality to enable customers to manage their Oyster and Contactless cards within TfL Go, including topping up, purchasing travelcards, viewing journey history so they can use a single app for their public transport needs in London.
Like our existing Oyster and Contactless app, to meet Payment Card industry requirements, including agreements with acquirers and brands, we cannot support any jailbroken or rooted devices.

May be of interest this link https://tfl.gov.uk/info-for/open-data-users/api-documentation describes how

Our unified API brings together data across all modes of transport into a single RESTful API.
