Hi.

I have problems with norwegian banking app vipps.

Error message “your phone is rooted”

Same with revolut banking app.

Anybody got a work around?

I have also problems to run the Norwegian Banking App Vipps on my Fairphone 6 /e/OS 3.0.2-a15-20250627504414-official -FP6 - Android 15
Is there any work on that. It`s quite crucial that th App runs.

Here’s my workaround, after my Austrian banking app downloads from Aurora, App Lounge or APK from another phone quit running:

I downloaded Huawei’s App Gallery from its website temporarily, then installed my banking app from there, uninstalled App Gallery again. Works also in Shelter, so one might also keep App Gallery installed and freeze it, if you have concerns about its security.

The banking app seems to be properly signed this way, and afterwards updates via App Gallery work as well.

Banking Apps highly rely on secure systems, so any risk keeps you from logging in or using it, a rooted phone is a security risk.

My phone’s not rooted, but as said, I guess the apk’s signing triggered it not to run.

It`s quite crucial that th App runs.

/e/OS can not technically guarantee this (as is visible).

The upcoming Revolut fix might fix your issue, too … or not. A possibly updated microG version in the next /e/OS update might fix your issue … or not.
And even if it gets fixed for now, it might break again anytime.

I had problems with Bank ID (And so Vipps), I have replaced the standard browser with Vivaldi (Som er norsk :)) and now it works.

Vivaldi worked with vipps. Thanks. Revolut still dont work, but the next update might fix that so i will just wait and see.

Vivaldi dont work after all. It where just the first day then it stopped working again…
