Week 36, 2025: Development and Testing Updates

Thanks @Manoj . That is what I was hoping and am waiting for. But there currently is no “3.1.1 official” available for Pixel 8 (Shiba), because the build failed.

Hi! Great news
Where can I find the download for the Motorola edge 30 neo? It’s not on the list of supported devices yet (Smartphone Selector)

Hi,

the Fairphone 6 isn’t on the list.
Will there be a different version soon?

Thanks and Greets.

The release notes have been published. Sorry for the delay. Will try to sync with the release roll out.

The FP6 was released with A15 for both community and official. This is the list of devices which were on older builds A12, A13 and A14 which are now getting the A15 build. The FP6 will get it updates OTA.

Please read what people wrote before you, we literally wrote about this same’ it is not on the list…’

There was a reason it was 2 months behind, it wasn’t just one device not getting it. But this is very relativ, so lets focus on other things.

As stated here from Manoj before, the list is for Community not regarding Official

Read also when the whole a15 stuff started months ago:

For Official there are OS OTA Upgrades, for which you can also get information here in the weekly. As far as I know only Fairphone 4 has official with a15 from the devices which had a14 or something older

Edit: Fairphone 5 not 4 has official a14 and not a15

I have Fairphone 4 with the latest (official) release 3.1.1 installed today, however I’m still on a14. I guess a15 still come in a later update. Also want to state my gratitude to the developers for all their work, take all the time you need❤️.

Indeed, For the FP4:

Community build is on A15 since 3.0.4
Official latest build 3.1.1 is on A14

Nope, i was wrong it was the FP5 and also a14:

→ :iphone: Fairphone 5 is now available on AOSP 14 for fresh installation! :tada: OTA upgrade to AOSP 14 coming soon! :drum:

There will be hundred more question about OTA OS Upgrade now for FP5 :see_no_evil: :see_no_evil:

Hi Manoj, greetings, I am a Moto G6 Plus Evert user, I am running the latest beta 3.0. 1 A15 RC3, stable so far, somewhat behind in security patches but I understand that development is somewhat chaotic at times, I will wait for version 3.2 to arrive. My question is: Will /e/OS V arrive in Evert or will it remain in A14?

Yes. A15 will come on the evert. As mentioned in this trail some of the builds failed to compile. The reason is there were changes to the source code at the lineageOS side which got pulled in during the build process. The changes are essential as LOS has device maintainers who make these code updates to improve the device features and performance. That makes it important that our builds also include these changes. We will continue efforts to build for all the devices on which A15 failed in this release.
If possible the builds would be released in this cycle. If not then they would be released as part of the next release v3.2 which would come in a months time.

Let me reiterate my question.
I have a Fairphone 5, with Android 13, /e/OS 3.0.4
I see no Android 13 build for 3.1.1, only Android 14.
Can I expect an Android 3.1.1 build or was Android 13 support dropped for Fairphone 5?
Should I wait or should I wipe and move to Android 14?

Sorry but still missing are you asking about community or official of the Different Build Types?

Only official builds ever get an OTA Android Version Upgrade (and this always runs considerably behind “introduction”).

All the rest of us on community builds must do a manual upgrade of Android version. It is recommended to treat this as a new install with a full Backup and Format data.

The release note says 3.1.1 version is available on official build but can’t see it on the download page : /e/OS official FP5 download

Sorry if it’s obvious but i can’t understand.

The release, as all /e/OS releases, will be spread over a week. We release builds for a few devices a day. This is done as the number of devices is huge 200 + and the servers would not be able to handle all the release at the same time. So about 25 % devices are released every day.

Third Party Apps support

  • Fairphone 4 and Fairphone 5 now benefit from an improved compatibility with third party apps.

@Manoj Can we have more information about this (new) feature?

e/OS/ is based on LineageOS but the CMF Phone 1 ‘tetris’ is not on their list of supported devices. How does this work? Does e maintain this build entirely by itself?

Yes. We have a maintainer for this device in the team.
