Week 44, 2025: Development and Testing Updates

As a practice we release Official builds a couple of days after the Community build has rolled out. This is to check for any inconsistencies that QA may have missed in the testing process.

And yes, the official build will also be released in the same mentioned timeline.

If you mean the official Pixel 5 redfin upgrade to A15. Then yes all devices we sell or sold and have official builds are candidates to receive OTA OS upgrades. The only point is when that build would be available and for that I do not have ETAs. But be assured the official builds are always OTA upgraded.

What is this, is the location broken on the FP3 with 3.2?

No, actually, since a few months, the performances of the FP3 to fix the location is quite bad. Sometimes it takes minutes to fix the location, some users can’t fix location at all.

Hi @Manoj, I just received the official e-3.2-a15 update for FP5 from the 3.1.4-t version. So can you confirm that the OTA upgrade A13→A15 is happening in v3.2 and not in v3.3 as you reported previously? Just to make sure it’s not a mistake.

Thanks

Yes, there are 3 OTA OS upgrade builds coming with v3.2

:white_check_mark: Google Pixel 8 shiba official A14 to A15

:white_check_mark: Google Pixel 7 panther official A13 to A15

:white_check_mark: FP5 A14 to A15 OTA OS upgrade official (installation of v3.1.4 required to view this build)

Thanks, but my case is FP5 A13 to A15. So there are 4 OTA updates, this one was anticipated to the v3.2

Fairphone 5 is now available on AOSP 15 whether the phone was on AOSP 13 or AOSP 14 before! :tada:

In the release notes it states this…

In the OTA section it is written with v3.3.

@Manoj Could you please edit the information to the correct fact? It is confusing.

I would say they couldn’t fit it into 3.2 and had to move it to 3.3, so I assume it would mean that 3.2 has the issue still

It might have came with 3.0.4

@AndrewH asked in different post about a15 for the CMF 1. Most of the devices Murena sells/was selling, have a community a15 build, this one hasn’t. Could you check on that?

As usual, official version with a15 will come when devs create the OS OTS upgrade

Hey I saw the update being available on my FP5 with A13 (3.1.4-t-20250915526530-official-FP5). But I cant really download it. The download is stuck between 0B and 700kb and fails the download mutliple times. I tried downloading it via WLAN and mobile data, even with a vpn, but nothing works.
Is the update somewhere available to download manualy?

It is crowdy, everybody tries to download.

Just be patient.

Others are also failing with that

Hm, My Murena FP5 with 3.1.4-t suggests an update to 3.2-a15.

The announcement says that it will come only with 3.3 - but the 3.2-a15 release notes say that FP5 can be updated either from -t or -a14.

Apparently, the release notes variant of truth is happening. But is that intentional? Should I skip this update and wait for the 3.3 release instead?

Maybe this answers your question?

I did the update from official Murena Fairphone 5 (bought in Murena Shop) 3.1.4-t to 3.2 A15 by OTA updater (top setting in settings app). So the information on release notes are correct and in post above to be corrected.

Is it possible to create torrents for the images in the future? The bandwidth is clearly congested and this may alleviate some of that.

This is a good idea.

Yes! Did the update, worked flawlessly! Thanks!

Hi there!
Maybe it’s a stupid question, but how can I update my Pixel 8 A14 3.1.4 official build to A15 3.2 official?
I heard it’s an OTA update so the updater should find it, but it doesn’t.
Then I downloaded the A15-3.2-official-zip-file and tried to install via ā€œmanual updateā€ in the updater, but it shows an error when importing the file.
Any ideas/help?
Thanks
