Week 52, 2025: Development and Testing Updates

@Didou: That’s confusing: On my OnePlus Nord (avicii) with /e/OS 3.3-s-official (A12) it needs just 1.3G and shows also an allocation level of 100%:

c:\Program Files (x86)\Tools\platform-tools>adb shell
OnePlusNord:/ $ df -h /
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/block/dm-7 1.3G 1.3G 0 100% /

Are you using the community build of A14?

I’m not sure whether the size shown by df -h / is really the available size on the device.

a12, a13, a14, a15 in general have taken increasingly more space to build (more advanced).

Also different SoC generate different builds, thus different space requirements.

Looking back to the research (2022) I linked for bacon (running LOSul a13 fine after repartitioning, btw) in Post #32, I do believe df -h reliable.

Looks like avicii is hitting a ceiling at 1.3 - 1.4G Unconfirmed. Reviewed Post #49

  • Option -h for “human readable” to ~1 decimal point.

Could you decipher this for me ?

Indeed.

Some will say that the command df is not really “disk free” but close enough.

One can try on the PC df / → the answer is in 1K-blocks. ok.

Try df --help → -h, --human-readable print sizes in powers of 1024 (e.g., 1023M)

On my PC I (more correctly) get the result to one decimal point (original edited).

Will check with the developers and get back.

On reflection, my comments do not include any hands on experience with Dynamic partitions, so df -h / does read the size of system as it exists on the device at that time. I think you are right as @piero hints above it may happen that the installed system could vary in size.

I can still not use Neftlix or the Onleihe App with the Fairphone 3. I use the stable version of EOS. Why doesn’t anyone test the updates before they are released?
This bug has been around since the last three updates…
I think certain apps should be usable and tested on a smartphone, especially streaming services, as they are used by a lot of people. Here are the error screenshots:

FWIW, on my OnePlus 6 (where the build of /e/OS A15 3.3 failed) I get the following on /e/OS 3.2 A15-20251025540112-community:

OnePlus6:/ $ df -h /

Hi,

A few days ago I got 3.3 1 update. Anyway to have the associated release note please?

I wonder if it is possible to see (or measure by df) the super partition as or similar to /dev/block/by-name/super or /dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/super (but perhaps not quite so simple https://source.android.com/docs/core/ota/dynamic_partitions/ab_launch)

Did you report a bug?

It was already reported (not by me). I wanted to report it again, but I cannot create a account at Gitlab. I get always the error message: Email is not allowed for sign-up. Please use your regular email address.
