Why google translate won't work?

On my Samsung Tablet (gts4lvwifi with LOS 21) I’ve installed Google Translate without GApps and it works works as expected.
On my Fairphone 4 (FP4 with /e/ 2.7 official) it won’t work: Can’t translate.
Why is this ?

Update:
It work only in flight mode. All permissions were granted.

Update II:
Flight mode off and it works.

Update III:
Using conversation mode: Can’t translate and typing text result in the same error. Back in flight mode: Works again :confused:

What’s the reason for this strange behavior ?

Perhaps consider using DeepL instead of Google Translate.

I do not ask for alternatives. DeepL for example does not have offline functionality.

Google translate works offline? Must be a large program then…

Only text translation - not speech recognition.
