Why is google constantly asking for my GPS location on my Murena Fairphone 5?

Hi

I recently installed the Rethink firewall from Mozilla, and some interesting things poped up!

  • Why is my Fairphone Murena e/os/ being probed by Google constantly asking for my GPS location?

  • Why is my Fairphone Murena e/os/ being probed by Google from the address mtalk.google.com - a service that has been shut down since 2017?

  • Why is nominatim.openstreetmap.org trying to connect every hour?

It seems that there are a lot of unwanted google services and other junk that STILL tries to connect to my Murena phone, despite the fact that it should be Google free!?

Have I misunderstood something?

I still dont understand why google is asking for my GPS location?

I have no google account installed, and I have never been on google play store or any other google service on the phone. It is basically as it was delivered originally. No google.

The link you provided does not mention this. Do you have some clue to this?

Try uninstalling “Rethink firewall from Mozilla” see if anything changes.
