Hi Everyone.
This has been going around for a while: Keep Android Open .
I own a Murena /e/os phone (very happy with it), and I am wondering about the implications of this for /e/OS. I think that it will not affect anything, except for perhaps decrease of developers, those who refuse to be registered, or perhaps the decrease of ways to obtain .apk files for installing apps.
Any idea, opinions, insights from this community:
Thanks

Under the stated policy, Android devices will be impeded from installing apps that are not Google signed. That shouldn’t mean that AOSP based OS’s will be affected.
But I could see Google try to eventually extend their goal to block the ability of signed apps from being installed on unsigned OSs.
Embrace, Extend, Extinguish. We’re at the last E right now, when it comes to Google and Open Source.
