Wise app is asking to Update Google Play Services

I’ve started using the Wise fintech app on my Murena Fairphone 5 (build 2.6.3-t-20241219455848-community-FP5). The app works well but keeps prompting me to Update Google Play Services with the message:
“Wise won’t run unless you update Google Play Services.”

When I attempted to update Google Play Services, it failed with the following error:
INSTALL_FAILED_UPDATE_INCOMPATIBLE: Existing package com.google.android.gms signatures do not match newer version; ignoring!

Does anyone have suggestions on how to resolve this issue?

Second issue.
App works as 2FA as well, but not in my phone with custom ROM.

I plan to contact Wise directly as well.

On /e/ os com.google.android.gms is not google play service but microG. Wise tries to update microG with real google play services so it is refused. If wise is just checking version solution would be that eos team update microG revision to match latest google play services.

You still have the browser as a backup. Some banks don’t even offer that but I guess bad choice when chosen app only :see_no_evil::see_no_evil:

Apparently it isn’t possible to use Wise in browser without app.
Wise uses app as mandatory 2FA to login from browser.

Forgot about that. Last time I needed it, it worked (couple months ago :see_no_evil::see_no_evil:)

Edit: It is possible to change the methd of 2FA

Yep
Thanks for sharing :raised_hands:
I forgot to check security setting

And good thing, you can decide the standard one and still a SMS would be possible, as far as I understood.

Same here, just pretend we didn’t see the message then enjoy the app

did anyone update to 2.7 with newest microg and check if message still is prompted?

Updated to /e/OS 2.7 (T) and latest Wise app (8.93.3, 1030) using Aurora Store, I don’t see the message anymore. Don’t know if it’s related to OS or app release.
