It’s been a while since I last came by — I’ve been really busy lately, about to become a father and with plenty of work on my plate.
I wanted to share that on Saturday, August 16th, we held the 3er Encuentro Federal Cyberciruja, where all the Cybercirujas groups from Argentina and nearby regions got together for an event. We showcased our hacked and modified devices, and also hosted a series of talks and workshops.
One workshop in particular that I’d like to highlight was “Degoogle and survival of Android phones”, where /e/OS and LineageOS were strongly promoted and widely used.
PS: The event itself was broader than just the workshop, but we felt it was very important to have a dedicated space for degoogling. That’s why we proposed this workshop, which ended up being very well received by the attendees.
I am ramsitx, active member of the argentinian group “cybercirujas”. This year, I have promoted the workshops ‘Degoogle and survival of Android phones’. I think it is important to continue promoting this, and my goal for this year is to end with a mobile phone flash party.
Please excuse my English, it is quite terrible.
I’m not sure I understand what you mean by “we all use the same equipment.” For workshops and flash parties, we have about 15 netbooks with Intel Atom processors and 1 GB of RAM. We normally use them for a LAN cybercafe with Linux and Quake 3 Arena at the events we do with cybercirujas, but when we have these workshops, we use them to install eOS and other ROMs, since we have them with Linux, with adb, fastboot, and the eOS and LineageOS images from the cell phones we have.
