How is the /e/ NextCloud encrypted?

Can anyone clarify for me how my data on the /e/ NextCloud is encrypted?

Can I have my own keys or are they globally set by /e/?

The data is NOT encrypted.

I do indeed know the search function…perhaps it’s not as good as it could be though, because when I searched for nextcloud encryption that didn’t come up.
