in theory NO, e-recovery and TWRP can both do the job, regarding sideload the .ZIP, But regarding installing the already downloaded file, the e-recovery don’t have the feature in its user interface
- The Phone in e-recovery choose “apply the update by ADB”, then on the PC run :
adb sideload e-2.8-a14-20250220470208-community-beyond1lte.zip
or
- in TWRP, simply “install” navigate to
/data/lineageos_updates
,
or
- in TWRP, choose “advanced” “ADB sideload” then on the PC run :
adb sideload e-2.8-a14-20250220470208-community-beyond1lte.zip
- You can follow the classic installation starting to step (8) or (9)
BUT DON’T WIPE OR FORMAT ANYTHING (NO FACTORY-RESET)
